I’ve bought an Asus EeePC 4G a few months ago here in Shanghai and removed the default Xandros OS to install a full Debian system. This worked well, however I don’t use this device very often and wanted to give Asus “easy” Xandros desktop a try… I found the original Eee PC 701 restoration CD in English here (the one I have is only in Chinese): http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=215613. After updating the system, it seems to be a very good interface for whose who don’t want to loose time on administration, and I think I will keep it!

I always used https://mail.google.com/mail/ URL to connect to my Gmail account instead of http://www.gmail.com/. This way, I was able to stay connected using SSL even after authentication.

Now Google just added a new option (check your Gmail settings) allowing to always use https, without the need to remember the previous mentionned URL. This is very good news!

Just one week after having sent my iMac to my local Apple support center, it is back on my desk. They have replaced the whole LCD panel as this one was defective, and I can finaly work decently without behing disturbed by this ugly dust.
